about

‘Bowl Of Oranges’ was the first Mathaius Young beat I ever wrote to. I loved the grittiness and dark energy it possessed. I wrote this song from the perspective of someone on the run, whether it be from something our themselves is up for debate. The title is an homage to ‘The Godfather’. Whenever an orange is shown in the film, it means someone is about to die. Impending doom was the exact feeling I was trying to convey with this song and a close friend suggested the reference in a writing session one day. Make sure you’re getting plenty of Vitamin C!
