‘CBGB’ was a beat that Knags had sent me years ago. I had tried a hundred different things on it then one day that phrase “CBGB baby rock and roll, rock and roll” popped in my head and then the song was what I thought was done thirty minutes later. Several months after on a trip to LA I decided the track needed some fresh life and who better for the job than one of my closest friends and favorite artists, Oreo Jones. Part of the reason for that trip was to shoot a video for this track so it just made sense to have Sean on the song because his sexy ass was definitely going to be featured in the video. I had the idea to shoot the “tourist” video on my previous trip and it just seemed like the perfect fit for the light-hearted feel of the track and Sean’s charismatic personality. We ran all over LA that day filming at any cornball spot we could find then hightailed it to Santa Monica to get the final roller coaster and carnival shots. Easily one of the best days of my life.
