'Yea Yea' (working title Chevy) was a beat I found in a folder that was never intended for me but fuck me, I’m glad I found it. That song came out of me with the strength of God. I really haven’t been rapping as often on tracks recently because it had been feeling less natural for whatever reason. But this beat just made me feel like I was right back in the pocket and to do anything other than fire off on it would be a disservice to Knags immaculate work. Definitely was inspired by Jack Harlow’s ‘Dark Knight’ track and was trying to make a song with similar energy. We had the idea for an analog night out on the town with the homies for the video shoot. The first shot of me doing my hair in the room filled with mirrors was actually shot at the same location as the Palo Santo video in Joshua Tree. Then when we got back to LA the next day we linked with EJaaz who gave us all mushrooms and then we bounced around to all my favorite late-night dives and dance spots. Another evening for the ages.
